A free five-weekend celebration of light at the spectacular Badlands Amphitheatre (Drumheller, Alberta).
Themed weekends featuring:
- Trail of Lights walk – a guided walk through a lit-up Badlands Amphitheatre
- Light installations – featuring Alberta light artists GABS & Ken Hacke
- Globalfest Fireworks (Weekend 2)
- Live Music
- Activities including lantern making and crafts
- Concession and pub service
Admission is free, but tickets are required.

Badlands Lightfest begins with an opportunity for quiet reflection.
Memories of Light: Throughout the world, people have traditions to remember those they’ve lost. Lighting a candle on the mantle, floating a lantern down a river or holding candlelight vigils. Spend an evening immersed in Memories of Light at the Badlands Amphitheatre.
Featuring: the Trail of Lights, live performances of Arvo Pärt’s Spiegel im Spiegel, lantern building workshops, and light installations..

The Night Sky: GlobalFest returns to the Badlands Amphitheatre on our second weekend of LightFest as we celebrate The Night Sky with two spectacular back-to-back fireworks shows.
Featuring: Live music by Bottle Rock-It
and Pyromusical Fireworks.
Admission is free, but tickets are required.

LIGHT UP THE AMP
Each year, together with you, the Badlands Amphitheatre lights up the amp in support of our nonprofit arts and culture society.
For every donation of $30, we will place a light in the Badlands Amphitheatre. For every $100, we will place 4 lights in the amp.Your donation is eligible for a tax receipt and will show your support for arts and culture.
This year, your light becomes part of Badlands Lightfest’s Trail of Lights and light displays, our free celebration of light in November and December.
