Attending a concert or other event

Welcome to the Badlands Amphitheatre. We are a community of staff, crew, volunteers, and supporters who exist to provide arts experiences to our guests. Our values are community, creation, and celebration.

Doors usually open one hour prior to the performance. Though your seat is assigned, please arrive early to park,  enjoy some food,  or grab drinks in our pub tent. For best seats , reserve ahead.

✅ What to bring (Allowed Items)

This is an outdoor event – rain or shine. Be prepared!

🎟️  We’re on 400 acres in the Canadian Badlands. Cell signal is weak in places — screenshot, download, or print your tickets in advance.

Recommended:

  • Hat, jacket, or rain poncho

  • Seat cushion for wood bench seating

  • Blanket (subject to search)

  • Comfortable shoes (ground is uneven)

Bag Policy (Clear Bags Only):

  • One clear plastic/vinyl bag (max 14″ x 14″)

  • Ziploc bags allowed

  • Small clutch/fanny pack (max 4.5″ x 6.5″)

  • All items are subject to visual inspection

Water Bottles:

  • One sealed bottle of water per person is allowed

  • Empty personal bottles may be refilled at the pub tent refill station

  • DSLR or long lens cameras with removable lenses

  • Tripods, selfie sticks, monopods

  • Professional photo, audio, or video equipment

  • Drones, RC devices

  • Banners, large signs, flyers, giveaways

  • Amplified sound devices (e.g., megaphones)

Weapons & Hazardous Items

  • Knives, scissors, or blades of any kind

  • Firearms, replica weapons, ammunition

  • Tasers, bear spray, mace, pepper spray

  • Explosives, fireworks, ignition devices

  • Flammable or corrosive substances

  • Paint, markers, or spray cans

  • Tools (hand or electric)

Miscellaneous

  • Bikes, scooters, frisbees, sports equipment

  • Pets (except certified service animals)

  • Clothing with offensive imagery or language

  • Promotional materials not pre-approved

  • Light-emitting devices (e.g., laser pointers)

  • Any item considered a threat to safety or public order

Special needs and accessible seating is available by calling the Box Office only and cannot be purchased online. When you arrive, our parking attendants and volunteers will assist you.

All ticket sales are final. We do not offer any refunds.

Please note: Concerts at the Badlands Amphitheatre proceed rain or shine. As an outdoor venue, weather is part of the experience. We recommend checking the forecast and dressing accordingly.

Attending the Badlands Passion Play

 

For over 30 years, hundreds of thousands of audience members like you have experienced an epic story of faith, hope & love on Canada’s largest outdoor stage.

Length: The Badlands Passion Play is a 3 hour outdoor performance (including a 20 minute intermission).

Doors open one hour prior to the performance. Though your seat is assigned, please arrive early to enjoy services like the gift shop and concession. For best seats or a block of seats, reserve ahead.

Age Restriction - 6 years +
Due to the sound sensitivity of our Amphitheatre, babies and children under 6 are not permitted to attend the Passion Play
✅ What to bring

We are an outdoor theatre. Please bring:

  • a hat
  • some water
  • a seat cushion for our wooden benches
  • sunscreen
  • cash for our in-theatre snack carts 
  • a jacket or sweater
  • rain poncho or raincoat

We have some of these items available for purchase in our gift shop and concession stands. Water bottles can be refilled on site. Picnic coolers cannot be brought into the amphitheatre. Umbrellas may not be used in the amphitheatre. 

Accessible Seating

Special needs and accessible seating is available by calling the Box Office only and cannot be purchased online. When you arrive, our parking attendants and volunteers will assist you. 

Badlands Passion Play Weather Policy

A performance is considered complete once Jesus has been sentenced by Pilate.

Under certain weather conditions, we do not use the crosses for the safety of our actors. As an outdoor production the Badlands Passion Play is performed in wet conditions, but there may be times when we need to pause the show for a short time to allow weather to pass. 

If it appears that a weather-related cancellation is necessary, we will make an announcement and advise you to move to your vehicle. For the safety of all, please exit in a controlled manner.

If the show is cancelled before Jesus is sentenced by Pilate, we will contact you within 24 hours with the following options:

  1. Request tickets for another performance during the current season or
  2. Donate the cost of your tickets for a tax receipt.

If you choose to leave when the show is paused and the show does resume, you will not receive tickets for another performance.

Refund Policy

All tickets to the Badlands Passion Play are final. We do not offer any refunds. However, a ticket to the play is never lost. If a performance is cancelled, your ticket (Badlands Passion Play only)  will be good for another performance. Or if you would like, you can donate the cost of your ticket and you will receive a tax deductible receipt.

Service and Parking Fee

A service fee applies to each ticket. This helps us to maintain our ticketing system and employ our office crew.

Parking is per vehicle and costs less in advance and $10 at the gate.

Badlands Passion Play: Group Discounts

Many groups (schools, clubs, colleges, tour companies, churches, family reunions) come to the Passion Play each year. Why not enjoy your special day with others?

We can design a group package that is just right for you. Groups must book over the phone (1-403-823-2001) or in person through our Box Office to receive their discount.

10+ people: 15% off the regular ticket price
25+ people: 20% off the regular ticket price
40+ people: 25% off the regular ticket price
